We're a group of motorcycle riders who like to ride along the greenlanes of the SW of the UK quietly without causing distress to those that live nearby. If you want to join in then you must be a member of the TRF to join and you must ride a quiet bike. Participation in this forum is free but all ride invites will be by e-mail. They will not be allowed to be posted here. That's the '-E' bit in the title, electronic! Please use your full name in registration for this forum. Your name will be deleted from your profile upon registration.
Please do not use a username that you have used on any other public/private forum. This is a Stealth-E group.

If you heard bikes it wasn't us .... If you met us on a lane, we would have stopped and said hello ...... We avoid ruts if possible and never make them worse ....
Add to this a code of conduct that echo's the Trail riders Fellowship Code of Conduct and you'll see that WE take our responsibility seriously WE take our recreational pastime seriously and WE take the threat to our pastime by Bureaucrats and irresponsible riders seriously!

How will the ride invites by e-mail thing work then? Say I decide to plan a ride, how do I go about inviting riders to join in? I expect to go out wed or thurs (or maybe both) this week. I will ride alone unless someone else wants to escape politics,I don't mind company and some people seem to enjoy tagging along when I go out to play. (ps I hope people don't find my alias too intimidating)

allowed out to play quietly in the week...... try to avoid sundays... as that seems to be when the pesky "ramblairs" are out and about roaming and stuff
Ive joined up because I happen to believe that we have two ways forward and they both have valid supporting arguments.
The fact that we are threatened on all fronts by intolerant property owners and other lane users, suggests that there could soon come a time when legislation shuts us down completely. A simple addition to some innocuous bill that happens to be on its way through the 'house'.
So we can either ride into oblivion in a high profile way in large groups, on noisy comp bikes and on every Sunday, or we can melt into the background and try to create a 'what trail riders?' situation, so that the legislation is not needed.
Hopefully we can share a few ideas here as how this might be achieved.
I guess it doesnt mean chucking yer bike away and buying an old XL185, although they are probably the quietest petrol driven trail bike Ive come across but if we can take small steps that collectively lower our profile there may be a long term future for legal trailriding
so whoever came up with the words - If you heard bikes it wasn't us .... If you met us on a lane, we would have stopped and said hello ...... We avoid ruts if possible and never make them worse ....
I'm disappointed at the picture that Whisp has posted as you can plainly see a rut where a bike has been. I must presume that as the rut is in front of Whisp that the rut was made by another rider who is not a convert to the 'quiet side'?
OK, how are we going to organise rides?
Might I presume that as we are a 'stealthy' group that all the rides should be in very small groups? Therefore I presume that we can PM people when it becomes clear what part of the country/county they are in?
I see the moderator has put a few more headings up on the bar at the top.
